"Leanne, so glad you followed up with me. The Loews was everything you said it was and more. And yes - we enjoyed the fire pits - what's not to love about a bar overlooking the sunsets with your own personal fire pit? The servers in the bar were exceptional also.

The on-line photos, etc. truly did not do this accommodation justice - it was so much more than could ever be witnessed except by a firsthand experience. We won't hesitate to return to Santa Monica and the Shangri-La and will undoubtedly stay at any Magellan properties in the future when we have cause to travel to the cities where their hotel properties are available. The upgrade was so appreciated - how often can you say that a hotel room was the highlight of trip (no small feat considering a trip to Disneyland was among our excursions while in the city!)"

"We love the Fairmont, it is such a nice hotel and the perfect location for walking to everything. We also used the Fairmont beach service on Labor Day and it was very nice, the Fairmont cannot be beat for service and a relaxing home away from home. We will always return to this hotel when in Santa Monica. They also brought me a nice chocolate dessert for my birthday which was a nice surprise!"

"Everything was so beautiful, so lovely and uplifting that I have decided that from now on as long as I am in Los Angeles this will become my new birthday ritual. Everything was fantastic! And the surprise bottle of wine and piece of cake was so thoughtful and greatly appreciated. The hotel staff couldn't have been more pleasant or more attentive to our needs. For instance, I received a dozen roses and took them up to the room but before I could even ask for a vase one of the maids saw the roses and got them into a vase immediately. Also I was able to get the late check out that I wanted.

I could go on...the location was incredible.

"We had the BEST time!!!!! The Fairmont was a wonderful choice for us. We used many of their guest services. The Beach and Pier is walking distance, and when we were too tired to walk back we just called for car service back. We were told at check in about bikes we could use. I think that this was one of the best parts, riding bikes from one pier to the next. Wonderful hotel!!!!!!! Oh, the Fig Restaurant is a great choice for meals too."

I did have a great trip, and the stay at the Viceroy was terrific. Our meetings were very successful, and everyone loved the atmosphere and feel of the hotel. Our dinner at the hotel restaurant was actually our favorite meal of the three day stay. We had a few changes as far as the names of guests, and the hotel was incredibly accommodating.

While I do not have any trips planned right now, either business or personal, I will absolutely be using Magellan again in the future, thanks so much for all your advice and help. "

We had a great trip! We loved it all - the beach, shopping, nightlife. And the Huntley was perfect for us. Beautiful hotel! The hallways are a little dark, but the rooms are big, bright and tastefully decorated. It would have been nice to have a pool, but the beach is a short walk away and the overall location of the hotel is perfect.

We loved the Penthouse restaurant and the staff was great. Our room was by the elevators, which was a little noisy, especially on Sunday morning. Next time well know to avoid that.

I'm sure we'll be planning another getaway around the same time next year, and we'll definitely use Magellan again. I have passed along your information to my neighbor who is planning a trip later this year.

Had a great stay. Loews Santa Monica has a beautiful lobby and grounds and the staff was wonderful. I thought the rooms were a bit average in terms of beauty and comfort. We had a wonderful view and I would stay there again as the location was great and the rates were reasonable, just not very lavish but would stay somewhere else if I wanted that.

Thanks for the follow up. The room worked out great, put a child on the floor and it was fine, they provided bedding no problem.

Over all I thought the experience with Magellan was great. The one hitch I had was that I booked my stay starting on Wednesday but ended up moving our trip a day later to start on a Thursday. (I had forgotten that I had done that.) Upon arrival, I was a no-show from their perspective and my reservation was cancelled. The did give me a room but wanted to charge me $180 more PER NIGHT and treat me as a new guest rather than one that had pre-booked. I was obviously flustered at that and felt I had no choice but to take it. I went back to the Front Desk the next day and expressed my disappointment and they eventually honored the rate Magellan had given me. So over-all I was happy with the Loews.

Not sure how this would have been different had I booked directly with the hotel? Ultimately my mistake but definitely didn't feel it was fair of the hotel to up charge me like that. Does Magellan send out reminder confirmations prior to arrival? That may have helped me trigger my mistake. That would be my only suggestion and I have no idea if that is customary in your industry.

I will certainly use you again."

The Georgian still had much of its charm of the past, which partly translates into furnishings that are a bit old and frumpy. But the net effect was good. Room was clean and comfortable. Bathrooms updated. The veranda on the front is terrific. Staff are really friendly and anxious to please. Best valued suite on the Santa Monica coast. "

It was our 7th Wedding Anniversary and first time away overnight from our son (1year 2 months). Lounging by the pool, relaxing, and enjoying great food and drink... the Viceroy was the perfect spot.

"We loved casa del mar!! Every evening they had live music in the lobby and great bar snacks. We really did not go anywhere except for long walks on the beach sidewalk.
